Dancing Lemon Chicken


1 Tbs. lemonade powder 1 Tbs. brown sugar

1 Tbs. paprika 2 tsp. hickory-smoked salt

1 tsp. lemon pepper 1 tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. onion powder ¼ tsp. celery seed

1 12 ounce can lemonade 1 chicken (3 ½ to 4 lbs)

2 tsp. vegetable oil


Mix together first 8 ingredients. Open the soda and pour ½ of the can into a cup to drink. Wash chicken, pat dry and cover with the vegetable oil and spice rub. Pour 1 tbs of the rub into the soda can. In a shallow roasting pan, place the chicken over the can. Tuck the tips of the wings behind the chicken's back. Roast 350 degrees for 1 ¼-1 ½ hours or until meat thermometer registers 170 degrees. Allow the bird to rest five minutes before lifting the chicken off the can.
